AALIYAH
Aaliyah is a professional artist living and working in New York City.
Born in Philadelphia and raised in Chesapeake, Virginia, Aaliyah began her dance training at the young age of 7. She later attended the Governor’s School for the Arts located in Norfolk, Virginia, where she worked and filmed with renowned choreographer Sir Richard Alston. She furthered her training as a dancer and choreographer at New York University’s Tisch School for the Arts Dance Program. Aaliyah earned her B.F.A. in the spring of 2024.
She has recently worked closely with well known choreographers such as Khori Petinaud, Andrea Miller, Laja Fields, Tanner Lane, Candace Brown, Sean Curran, Netta Yerushalmy, Nicole Fosse under the Verdon Fosse Legacy, and many more.
Aaliyah hopes to build her artistic community through her deep love for dance and performance, eventually returning her knowledge to the spaces that built her up.
